Astara Tours is offering a wide variety of excursions with a duration of half-day and one full day.These day tours depart from Marrakech and realized in 4 by 4 or minibus. A day out in the Moroccan countryside could involve you spending time with the local Berbers in their villages, joining in with their daily activities or their festivals, or it could take you further out into the wild, into the forests and the peaks. You will have access to beautifully made Berber cuisine, for example breads, soups and couscous and you will be shown around safely by local, well qualified and experienced guides. One day trip from Marrakech to the Atlas Mountains

     Our day trip to the Atlas Mountains  begins with our introduction at either your Riad or hotel in Marrakech at 09:00. We set off to the Atlas Mountains; our first rest break being Tahanaout, meeting local villagers at the traditional Argan oil co-operative, experiencing the versatile uses given to the hand produced oil and being shown the process itself! We are then driven up to Asni valley (1000m) for our next adventure. Also here our camel guide will be waiting to take us on a 'ship of the desert' across the Asni river; then passing through the Juniper forest. Our drive continues into the Sidi Fars valley, wonderful sights and surrounding exquisite terrain. After a welcoming cup of mint tea, we will embark on a 2-3 hours guided tour around the Berber villages, with option of riding mules for the less energetic. After this hike (mule ride) we enjoy a traditional Berber lunch( three courses), which can not be missed! within a Berber house to experience the local lifestyle, traditional cooking methods and welcoming atmosphere of a Berber family; assisting in the preparation of mint tea and cultural exchange with the family. After our relaxing meal we journey by vehicle back towards Marrakech through  Asni Valley ending our days activities.

One day trip from Marrakech to Ait benhaddou (Hollywood of Africa) start in the morning from the riad or the hotel in Marrakech at 8 a.m. and cross the Atlas Mountains. The winding roads, changing scenery, colourful valleys, shepherds with their flocks, Berber villages high up on the hillsides, make this a picturesque drive. And when we get to Tizi'n Tichka Pass, we’ll be at the highest point in the Atlas Mountains. Of course, we stop for photos and to breathe in some fresh mountain air.we’ll head to the 11th century kasbah of Ait BenHaddou, now a recognized UNESCO World Heritage Site. The architecture and the history are sure to impress you. Not to mention the views of the surrounding: the flowing river, the palm trees.

Heading further to the quiet town of Ouarzazate we'll have a traditional lunch before visiting the Taourirt Kasbah. This building provided the backdrop for the Hollywood hit Star Wars and it has been restored with financial assistance from UNESCO.

Marrakesh is possibly the most important of Morocco’s four former imperial cities (cities that were built by Moroccan Berber empires). The region was inhabited by Berber farmers from Neolithic times, but the actual city was founded in 1062 AD by Abu Bakr ibn Umar, chieftain and cousin of Almoravid king Yusuf ibn Tashfin. In the 12th century, the Almoravids built many madrasas(Koranic schools) and mosques in Marrakesh that bear Andalusian influences.

After breakfast, you will have full day tour to visit Marrakech. The visit will include: the Menara gardens, a magnificent pool surrounded by flowers, the Koutoubia Minaret, the Saadian Tombs, the museum of Dar Si Said with the best display of Berber arts and crafts, and the Bahia Palace…lunch will be in local restaurant, after that we walk through the colorful Souks of Marrakech. The day will concluded with a sunset drink overlooking the Jamaa El Fna square.
